The Devil's Eye

A lost notebook of the legendary alchemist John Dee surfaces at a London auction, where a scandal-ridden billionaire snaps it up.
A financier with a fascination for the occult, Marc Pearson believes the notebook contains the location of the Devil’s Eye, a mystical stone promising to unlock the cosmic knowledge of God. In the hands of the world’s foremost blackmailer, it would mean total power.
CIA operatives Ridley Samaras and Booker Douglas decipher John Dee's encryption within the pages of the notebook, plunging into a high-stakes hunt across Europe to find the missing artifact before Pearson does. From the snowy streets of Edinburgh to the canals of Venice, from the heart of London to the grand palaces of Vienna, they find themselves locked in a blistering race with Pearson’s deadly team of mercenaries.
As Ridley and Booker close in on their target, they could never have imagined the reach of the billionaire's influence, as their pursuit leads them to the very threshold of British royalty. There, they must decide how far they’re willing to go to stop Pearson before he unlocks a terrible power.

Q&A
Q: A lot of this feels very "ripped from the headlines." How much is inspired by true events or real people?

A: The disclaimer here is that I have no knowledge of nor do I claim that anything I wrote in this book actually transpired. That said...I did a great deal of research on the case/non-charges against Jeffrey Epstein. The man was not only a convicted criminal at the end of the day, accused of truly terrible acts, but he was also fascinated with futuristic sciences. The thought that led me into this story was, "What if an Epstein-like man was instead obsessed with the occult?"

Q: Did John Dee really try to contact spirits?
A: He did, and he kept voluminous, meticulous notes on his séances with his scryer, Edward Kelly. I have one of his journal compilations in my library, which I used for research. Between the antiquated language used and the amount of tables, graphs, diagrams, and strange letters, they're a tough read.
Also, they're a bit freaky. He wrote down *dialogue exchanges* that they had with these spirits. In this way, Madimi was actually a real influence in Dee's life.

Q: Is the Sigillum Dei Aemeth real?

A: Yes. Take a look.
